Alodorm is used to treat insomnia (sleeping problems).
Alodorm contains the active ingredient nitrazepam, which belongs to a group of medicines called benzodiazepines. These medicines are thought to work by their action on brain chemicals.
Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why Alodorm has been prescribed for you.
Your doctor may have prescribed Alodorm for another reason.
In general, benzodiazepines such as Alodorm should be taken for short periods only (for example 2 to 4 weeks). Continuous long-term use is not recommended unless advised by your doctor. The use of benzodiazepines may lead to dependence on the medicine.
Alodorm is available only with a doctor's prescription.

ALPHAMOX contains the active ingredient amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic that belongs to a group of medicines called penicillins. ALPHAMOX is used to treat a range of infections caused by bacteria. These may be infections of the chest (pneumonia), tonsils (tonsillitis), sinuses (sinusitis), urinary and genital tract, skin and fleshy tissues.
ALPHAMOX works by killing the bacteria that causes these infections. ALPHAMOX can also be used to prevent endocarditis (heart infection) in some people.
ALPHAMOX will not work against infections caused by viruses, such as colds or flu.

This medicine works by widening the blood vessels so that blood passes through them more easily. This helps to lower blood pressure.

ALPRIM contains the active ingredient called trimethoprim which belongs to a group of medicines called antibiotics. ALPRIM is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that is causing your infection.
Use ALPRIM only as directed and consult a health care professional if pain or symptoms persist.
ALPRIM will not work against infections caused by viruses, such as colds or flu.

Amaryl is used to control blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Amaryl is used when healthy eating and increased physical activity are not enough to control your blood glucose.
Amaryl can be used alone, or together with insulin or other medicines for treating diabetes.

How it works

Amaryl lowers high blood glucose by increasing the amount of insulin produced by your pancreas.
Amaryl belongs to a group of medicines called sulfonylureas.
If your blood glucose in not controlled properly, you may experience hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose - a "hypo") or hyperglycaemia (high blood glucose).
Low blood glucose can occur suddenly. Signs may include:
weakness, trembling or shaking
sweating
lightheadedness, dizziness, headache or lack of concentration
tearfulness or crying
irritability
hunger
numbness around the lips and tongue
If not treated promptly, these may progress to:
loss of co-ordination
slurred speech
confusion
loss of consciousness or seizures
High blood glucose usually occurs more slowly than low blood glucose. Signs of high blood glucose may include:
lethargy or tiredness
headache
thirst
passing large amounts of urine
blurred vision
High blood glucose can lead to serious problems with your heart, eyes, circulation or kidneys.
